v1.6.0 Pallet Module

We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest product update, which includes a brand-new Pallet module that will revolutionize the way you manage your inventory and production processes! With this new feature, you now have greater flexibility and control over your inventory, allowing you to perform transactions such as tracking, receiving, transferring, picking and delivery by Pallets.

What is a Pallet?

Axacute Pallet Module

A Pallet is a pallet, carton, tote, or any other container used to hold the goods in your warehouse. Every Pallet comes with a unique identifier called LPN (“License Plate Number”) to track a specific unit of goods within the warehouse. Bear in mind that a Pallet does not necessarily represent a physical entity. You can define a LPN just as a collection of items. You can utilise the feature to record the movement of the Pallet within your warehouse by simply scanning the LPN using a mobile data collection device.

Benefits of Pallet

1. Better Inventory Tracking and Management

When items are received into your warehouse as individual units, it can be difficult to keep track of exactly how many items you have in stock, and which of them have been used or sold, which might lead to discrepancies in your inventory counts.

The Pallet module requires minimal effort to track your inventory throughout its lifecycle because the tracking is maintained at the LPN level based on a location attribute. A unique LPN barcode is dedicated to the Pallet when you perform receiving, transfer or build a Pallet from multiple loose items. This means that you can easily manage and track inventory across multiple locations, reducing the risk of overstocking or stockouts. Once assigned, the LPN is re-usable across all processes and it always uniquely identify the items and quantity associated with it.

By transferring items between Pallets, you can ensure that your inventory is stored in the most efficient way possible, reducing the amount of space required and increasing the accuracy of your inventory counts. By consolidating multiple loose items into a single Pallet, it reduces the risk of picking errors and ensuring that you always have the right items on hand when you need them.

Type of companies that will find this feature useful:

Companies that deal with high-volume or fast-moving inventory, where it can be difficult to keep track of every single unit.

2. Improved Operation Efficiency and Accuracy

Another benefits of using Pallets in your warehouse is that it can significantly improve accuracy and efficiency. Say you have multiple items from multiple Customer Orders to be delivered to the same customer, what you can do is to build a Pallet, and then pick the required items into the Pallet. By doing this, you are essentially consolidating several individual items into a single unit that can be easily picked and transported. This does not only reduce the number of trips required to pick individual items, but also reduce the risk of errors and discrepancies in your inventory counts.

When it comes time to pick the items on the pallet, you can simply scan the LPN barcode to identify the items that need to be picked. This makes the picking process faster and more efficient, as you do not need to scan each individual item barcode. It is especially useful for high-volume items that are frequently picked, as it allows you to pick larger quantities of the item at once.

In addition, picking from a pallet can also help reduce the risk of damage to individual items. By consolidating multiple items into a single unit, you can reduce the risk of items being dropped or mishandled during the picking process. This can help improve the overall quality of your inventory and reduce the risk of returns or other issues.

Type of companies that will find this feature useful:

Companies that sell a large number of products (High-Volume-High-Mix).

3. Increased Productivity and Cost Savings

By improving accuracy, efficiency, and inventory tracking, the Pallet feature can also help you increase productivity and save costs. With more accurate inventory counts and faster picking processes, you can reduce the time and resources required to manage your inventory. This can help you reduce labor costs and increase overall productivity.

An optimized warehouse layout and inventory storage allows you to reduce the amount of space required, which can help you save on rent and other overhead costs. Improved inventory tracking and management helps you reduce the risk of overstocking or stockouts, lead to cost savings and increased profitability over time.

Conclusion

Overall, we believe that this Pallet feature will provide you with greater flexibility, efficiency, and control over their inventory and production processes. By improving inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse layout, simplifying picking and delivery, facilitating inventory transfers, and streamlining production processes, we are confident that this feature will help you save time, reduce costs, and improve your bottom line.
